Tea for One, 2014
This wall installation was created as part of a one-year residency in a school in Devon, England. The use of the repetitive pattern was initially inspired by a trolley of identical white cups and saucers in the school canteen. It stands for the anonymity of the collective space and is used as a canvas to record narratives connected to a time of loneliness. The work is an exploration of the link between drawing and object, and illustrates a personal journey in a new environment.
Terracotta, vitreous slips, underglazes, some glazes and commercial decals
Size of the pieces: approximately 17 x 18 x 2.5 cm
